"I recently finished my last Sister to Sister call with Elizabeth (sadly, I might add!) When we first started the calls I wasn't sure what to expect, but I instantly knew they were going to be helpful. Elizabeth has become not only a mentor of sorts, but a friend. Her easy going personality and her laughter put me at ease, and she is so fun to talk to. She helped give me a better perspective on my role as a mom, wife, rancher, and blogger, and filled my lunch hours with positivity. Elizabeth helped me set some goals for myself personally, and for my blog and new cake business. She gave me a much needed kick -in -the butt to get my food license finished and sent in to the state, to which I am very grateful (sometimes you just need someone outside your regular circle to believe in your crazy ideas too!). She has reminded me that you can't do everything, or be everything to everyone all the time, and that's OK! Take the next best step, and cut yourself some slack. Do your best, and take pride in that, and learn to do what you can, when you can. I will miss my weekly lunch-hour calls with Elizabeth, for sure! But I know she is just a private message or text away when I need her insight, or to share something crazy with her. I highly suggest signing up for a Sister to Sister call- you won't regret it!! Sincerely, Richelle B. Havre, MT"
You are in the right place if you:
Find it challenging to balance the all-encompassing ag lifestyle
Struggle to do it all and care for yourself
Want to feel like you are managing the chaos, not the chaos managing you!
As a Farm Wife myself, I am grateful for our rural agricultural lifestyle, but have faced the stress and struggles just like you. Whether you ranch, farm, homestead, or do a variety of all of them, we struggle with very similar things: the overwhelming responsibilities and needs of running a home and agricultural operation, the all-encompassing nature of our lifestyle, and the isolation and loneliness that can occur because of rural living, and the feeling of chaos and crazy schedules. I found myself struggling with these as well and decided to begin talking and writing about them, gathering rural women in agriculture together, at least on social media, so that we could support, encourage and love on each other. It's not that I've finally got it all together, or don't continue to struggle with those things, it's that I know what it feels like, have found ways to connect with other women, have found strategies to sneak in moments of self-care, am able to put one foot in front of the other, and want to encourage and support women in similar roles as me!
What's involved?Sister 2 Sister Calls are 45 minutes of enjoyable support and encouragement with Elizabeth over the phone. Sister 2 Sister Calls are available as individual calls or a package of 4 calls. During the first call we will determine the areas that you'd like to focus on. In following calls we will work together to create simple successful strategies and obtainable goals that will be effective and easily implemented between the needs of family, farm and/or ranch. You will receive simple assignments to implement and the support to complete them (via email or private messaging) during the week between calls. You will also find yourself renewed to begin again with a new outlook and that you have built confidence and have found ways to take care of yourself in the midst of it all! You'll find yourself looking forward to each call and having fun!
"The Rural Sisterhood Community and Elizabeth have supported and encouraged me through some rough times in my life. Farm life leads families to walk so close together that it is sometimes difficult to keep families functioning in a loving and faithful way. Elizabeth really helps to foster this in farm wives across America. I spend much time in historical research and I really feel that Elizabeth is keeping that history alive as she encourages rural women to be shepherds, stewards, and cornerstones of their households just as our grandmothers and those before us were." Let me guess! You've said something like this..."The house is a wreck, but my barn is immaculate. I can't seem to get both in order." "We are all flying different directions, but working towards the same goal." "I'm burnt-out, but can't stop. I have family and animals depending on me." "I'm always coming to God with my problems, but want to grow my relationship with Him too." "I want to have my stuff together enough to actually put thought into the meals I feed my family, but I don't know where I'd find the time and where to start." "I know I'm strong, resilient and determined, but I sure don't feel that way right now!" "We are stretched tight financially!" "I'd love my business to actually bring in enough money to help support the family." "I'm sooooo incredibly tired." "Stress is at a high point right now." Or maybe, with the greatest of intentions, you start projects using the latest "do this, and all these things will fall in line", and a couple weeks in give up, because you just can't maintain them with every other responsibility the family and farm or ranch throw at you? When your hubby or friends ask about the projects you started so passionately, are you embarrassed and feel guilty that you "failed"? Do you tell yourself you obviously "failed", "didn't put enough effort into", or "didn't care enough about" the projects? Then when the project arises again, you are reticent to throw any more time or money at these struggles, so you continue muddling through? Do you feel so stretched and stressed that you feel like you are just making it or even failing, because you know you are not taking care of yourself and wearing yourself out more and more?
What's to lose?Unfortunately, without taking active steps to make a difference, the feelings of overwhelm, failure, and exhaustion will persist. Take a chance and invest in yourself. Break the cycle and take this small step of working with another rural sister in ag to make lasting positive changes in your daily life.
What's your investment?I bet you're thinking, "Ok! Ok! It sounds great, but money is tight and so is time!" I get that. So, I've set prices with the financial circumstances of many families in agriculture in mind. I also will work with you and do my best to work around your schedule. As I know that that is ever changing and demanding. An individual Sister 2 Sister Call is $35 OR A package of 4 Sister 2 Sister Calls is $100. *

"After my first Sister 2 Sister call with Elizabeth, I knew immediately that I had connected with a like-minded woman. We were able to talk about business, our lives in agriculture, and our personal struggles with ease. She gave me so many helpful tools; not only to move my home business forward, but also to help in my personal relationships. Plus, Elizabeth is so accommodating in her schedule! As women in agriculture, we live crazy schedules, and never know what will happen day to day, so that was important to me. I look forward to more calls with this amazing woman!" Kacey G. Craig, CO
